The veteran and Smithtown, N.Y., resident was born in 1915, according to an obit posted by Branch Funeral Home. Schreck spent his entire FDNY career at Engine Company 218 in Brooklyn. LATIMER COUNTY, Okla. - Members of the Buffalo Valley Fire Department were battling a fire at a house that was full of ammunition when the worst happened. The fire caused the ammunition to heat up and discharge, striking one firefighter in the face and head, according to officials.
