WATCH: Rioters in DC Attack Fox News Reporter & Crew

by AmericasKeepersAdmin on May 30, 2020

As protesters outside of the White House got increasingly angry, they went after a Fox News Crew chasing them and attacking a journalist early Saturday morning.

A Fox News Crew was covering the protest in Lafayette Park when the protesters became enraged and went after them.

Veteran reporter Leland Vittert was covering the story when a protester lunged at him. Vittert and the camera crew fled out of the park with protesters in hot pursuit.

Protesters threw objects and yelled at the Fox News crew as they chased them and one protester broke the camera when he tried to grab it.

“Imagine what it’s like to be a black man, feeling like this every f***ing day,”
– Protester

Vittert has experienced many situations throughout his career covering stories in Egypt, Libya, West Bank, war in Ukraine and the Baltimore Riots in 2015. He said this was one of the scariest encounters that left the whole Fox News Crew shaken.

“This was the scariest situation I’ve been in since I got chased out of Tahrir Square by a mob, and this was equally scary,”
– Leland Vittert

The Fox News crew eventually made it out of the park and found a police car. The officer at the wheel refused to get out of the car as the hostile crowd surrounded them. The police did radio for backup.

“We were very clearly on our own, and in that situation, you just don’t know how things are going to play out,”
– Leland Vittert

Christian Galdabini the Fox News cameraman said that police were able to eventually get the crowd calmed down.

“It was a wild one. In the park, you could feel the mob mentality taking over.  There were no cops anywhere. There was nobody there to keep things calm and it got out of hand.”
– Christian Galdabini

Vittert was very grateful for the security team who helped get them to safety.

“I give a lot of credit to them. I’m also grateful that the Daily Caller and some of the other organizations were able to follow the mob and document it. I really appreciate that they had our backs.”
– Leland Vittert

Suzanne Scott, CEO of Fox News Media praised the whole crew for how they handled the situation.

“We strongly condemn these actions against FOX News Media reporting teams as well as all other reporters from any media outlets who are simply trying to do their jobs and report the news during an extraordinary time in our country’s history. Yesterday, we denounced the detainment of the CNN crew in Minneapolis and stood with them to protect all journalists’ right to report without fear or favor.”
