A Thai soldier opens fire in the northeastern city of Nakhon Ratchasima, killing at least 17 people and wounding more than 20 others.
Sub. Lt. Jakrapanth Thomma of the Thai army got into an argument with his superior before he shot and killed him. He then grabbed his superior’s gun and went around shooting his colleagues.
He then stole guns, ammunition and Humvee. As he drove through the streets he shot people along the way before arriving at the Terminal 21 mall.
The mall has since been shut down as police attempt to capture the suspect.

At one point the suspect started to post on social media prior to his page being taken down.
“Death is inevitable for everyone. “Should I give up?”

His Facebook page was ultimately removed and a representative from Facebook made a statement.
“Our hearts go out to the victims, their families and the community affected by this tragedy in Thailand. There is no place on Facebook for people who commit this kind of atrocity, nor do we allow people to praise or support this attack,”

At this point his motive is unclear and he has not been apprehended
