The Trump administration’s new policies are working and have discouraged people from attempting to illegally enter the United States. However, Homeland Security officials are warning that the numbers are likely to increase as warmer weather approaches n the spring.
“We continue to see positive results because of the steps taken by the Trump Administration to control the border and uphold the rule of law. We’ve seen eight straight months of decline, but as we see from the seizure of the longest-ever tunnel between the U.S. and Mexico and significant drug seizures, much work remains. We hope that Congress will finally act to address the ongoing crisis on the Southwest border and pass meaningful legislation to strengthen our immigration system.”

Also, in a newly released report from FAIR (Federation for American Immigration Reform) it revealed that illegal immigration costs are felt far from the southwestern border, particularly those in the least populated states. They figured the cost in the 10 states with the fewest illegal immigrants was north of $450 million annually. That breaks down to between $4,000 to $6,500 each
