Weeks ago Karl Manke opened his shop despite the unconstitutional stay at home order from Governor Whitmer. Authorities paid Manke multiple visits trying to enforce the order and shut his business down. He has faced fines, and even had his license revoked.
Initially the Michigan Court of Appeals upheld the decision to revoke his license, but yesterday the Michigan Supreme Court reversed that decision in a unanimous vote.
Manke had opened up his business so that he could take care of himself and his family and the decision yesterday was a huge win for him. Despite all the steps Governor Whitmer had taken to shut him down he remained open.
Throughout the whole process the community had rallied behind Manke showing their support.
“I’m still standing up. I still have that courage,”
