Up to six U.S. casualties reported involving a U.S. Special Ops force following an ambush in the Nangarhar province of Afghanistan on Saturday.
There are reports coming in that there was an attack launched by Afghan troops against their U.S. military partners. Afghan officials are also reporting that six Afghan national army troops were killed as well.
“A combined U.S. and Afghan force conducting an operation in Nangarhar Province was engaged by direct fire on Feb. 8, we are assessing the situation and will provide further updates as they become available.”

The attack occurred while a team from the 7th Special Forces Group was on a mission near Nangarhar province. Unfortunately insider attacks within the Afghan Security Forces is nothing new. Reportedly in the last quarter of 2019 there were 33 similar attacks resulting in 90 casualties
