In President Trump’s continued commitment to fight illegal immigration, he stated in his State of the Union Address for the Justice for Victims of Sanctuary Cities Act, by Republican Sen. Thom Tillis of North Carolina, to be passed immediately.
The proposed Act would allow victims of crimes that were committed by illegal immigrants to be able to sue any city government or state government that is a sanctuary.
“The United States of America should be a sanctuary for law-abiding Americans — not criminal aliens,”
– President Donald Trump
During his speech President Trump discussed the story of Jody Jones. Her brother, Rocky was killed in December of 2018 by a man who had already been deported twice but managed to reenter the country illegally.
“Rocky was at a gas station when this vile criminal fired eight bullets at him from close range, murdering him in cold blood. Rocky left behind a devoted family, including his brothers who loved him more than anything,”

During his State of the Union address the president also called out California and New York. California is a sanctuary state and New York has sanctuary zones. As places that offer sanctuary to illegal immigrants they do not turn over criminals to federal immigration for deportation.
