In Arlington Texas a 16 y.o was shot and killed after standing up to a bully just a few days prior.

Samuel Reynolds was a sophomore at Arlington High School and just days before the shooting he intervened to help a 15 y.o. who was being bullied by the shooter. Since the intervention the student began to give Reynolds trouble.

“Our victim had broken up a fight a few days prior between what he described as a smaller boy, who was kind of picked on, and after he broke up the fight, he started having trouble with the suspect,” Christopher Cook with Arlington Police

On Thursday the 15 y.o. bully confronted Reynolds in the apartment complex where they live. The incident was caught on camera and it shows the 15 y.o. pulling out a .40 caliber handgun and shooting Reynolds. He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival there.

At this time the name of the shooter is not being released due to his age. However the suspect initially denied his involvement and shortly after confessed.

“He pulls out a handgun from the rear part of his pants he was wearing, points it at the victim and fires one round. We did recover one spent shell casing. It’s a .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun.”

At this point there is outrage from the community and police department about how the suspect was able to get ahold of the gun. The police will be investigating the shooting as well as who provided the gun to the minor shooter.

“That’s the question: how did he get the gun? And that’s something we want answers for. We are sick and tired of children in our community coming into contact with firearms and possessing them and using them in these types of manner,”
