Shortly after midnight on Sunday in uptown Minneapolis several individuals who were on foot started shooting at people before they fled the scene. Multiple people were injured and one was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Minneapolis Police had put out a tweet asking people to avoid the area.
Currently police do not have anyone in custody.
Minneapolis is just one of many cities across the U.S. that is calling for the defunding of their police departments, and yet the mass shooting early Sunday morning is a perfect example of how essential police are in today’s society.
