Trump Pressures NC Gov By Threatening To Move RNC Convention

by AmericasKeepersAdmin on May 25, 2020

President Trump is threatening to move the Republican National Convention from North Carolina unless Governor Roy Cooper can guarantee that the space where the convention is scheduled to be held can be occupied at full capacity.

The Republican National Convention is scheduled for August 24-27 in Charlotte North Carolina at The Spectrum Center.

President Trump had insisted that the convention be held in North Carolina because he loves it there. However on social media he has expressed frustration with Governor Cooper still keeping the state shutdown and not being able to guarantee that the Spectrum Center could be occupied at full capacity for the Convention.

“In other words, we would be spending millions of dollars building the Arena to a very high standard without even knowing if the Democrat Governor would allow the Republican Party to fully occupy the space,”

“Plans are being made by many thousands of enthusiastic Republicans, and others, to head to beautiful North Carolina in August. They must be immediately given an answer by the Governor as to whether or not the space will be allowed to be fully occupied. If not, we will be reluctantly forced to find, with all of the jobs and economic development it brings, another Republican National Convention site.”

Despite the coronavirus pandemic both the Democratic and Republican parties plan to hold in person conventions.
