Multiple businesses, property owners and residence within the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone sued the city of Seattle on Wednesday.
The lawsuit filed by multiple plaintiffs alleges that by city officials not stepping in to help out with putting an end to CHAZ they have deprived residents and businesses of their right to their property.
The plaintiffs also clearly stated that the lawsuit was not an attempt to dismiss the message that protesters were trying to get across.
“Rather, this lawsuit is about the constitutional and other legal rights of plaintiffs – businesses, employees, and residents in and around CHOP – which have been overrun by the city of Seattle’s unprecedented decision to abandon and close off an entire city neighborhood, leaving it unchecked by the police, unserved by fire and emergency health services, and inaccessible to the public at large,”

The attorney for Seattle will review the lawsuit and has not made a comment about the lawsuit at this time.
