According to an update from Quest Diagnostics on Monday the ability to perform coronavirus testing is outpacing the demand
As the United States starts to explore the possibility of some states opening up the economy one of the key components is each states ability to perform coronavirus testing.
Fortunately Quest Diagnostics reported that they have not experienced a backlog in nearly a week.
Quest has performed more than 940,000 test and reports that they will start testing up to 350,000 people per week. The company is also expanding its outreach to include nursing homes and federally qualified healthcare facilities
The turnaround time for test from Quest is averaging less than two days. They have also shipped 1.1 million test to healthcare facilities since early March.
The company is also working to open up new drive thru sites with the most recent one in Rochester NY
