Natalie White is accused of setting fire to the Wendy’s where Rayshard Brooks was killed after resisting arrest and threatening to taser an officer.
More than 100 protesters gathered outside of the jail on Tuesday night demanding White’s release. The protesters banged pots and pans, blasted car horns and held signs stating, “Dismantle white supremacy” and “Shut it down.”
On Monday night police announced they were looking for White in connection with the Wendy’s fire, and the following evening she turned herself in. White is being charged with first degree arson.
On Wednesday afternoon a judge set a $10,000 bail and ordered that White be on house arrest, wear an ankle monitor and stay off of social media.
Despite White turning herself in, her lawyer claims she did not start the Wendy’s fire.
