The reservation for the room had expired on Tuesday and when management attempted to enter the room they heard a gunshot and called 911.

Witnesses did tell police that they might have heard gunshots earlier in the day but thought it was backfire from nearby traffic at the time.

The adults in the room have been identified as Charles Schoenfeld and Brittany Howard. At this time the names of the children and the relationship to the children are not being released.

At this point investigators are unsure of the circumstances surrounding the shooting and are continuing to look into the incident.
