POLICE: 2 Officers Shot After Suspect Hijacks Bus In Garland Texas

In Garland Texas a suspect was shot and killed after hijacking a Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) bus.

Around 11 am on Sunday a suspect hijacked a DART bus, took the driver hostage and led the cops on a chase through several areas outside of Dallas.

The suspect got on the bus and shot out several windows before hijacking the bus. He then ordered the driver to go somewhere leading cops on a chase in multiple jurisdiction. During the chase the suspect shot his rifle at police multiple times.

Eventually the police were able to put a stop to the chase utilizing spikes in the road. During the chase a DART officer and Garland officer were shot by the suspect. Fortunately the officers did not sustain life threatening injuries.

“Just after 11 a.m., we received a call of a weapons disturbance on a bus in Garland where a person was holding a DART bus driver at gunpoint. The bus traveled through multiple cities where the gunman was firing out of the bus at officers.”

The suspect was shot by police and transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
