Philadelphia Police SWAT Officer Killed In The Line Of Duty Executing A Warrant

by AmericasKeepersAdmin on March 13, 2020

Early Friday morning, SWAT Cpl. James O’Connor was shot and killed while serving a homicide warrant in the Franklin neighborhood of Philadelphia

As soon as officers entered the property, they were met with gunfire from behind a closed door. O’Connor was struck in the shoulder. Another officer returned fire and hit 2 suspects. The suspects are in stable condition at local hospitals.

O’Connor was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He leaves behind a wife and two grown children. Both of his children also serve. One is also a police officer and the other serves in the Air Force.

The subject of the warrant was not shot but was taken into custody along with 3 others.

This is a breaking story and we will update as more information becomes available.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the officer’s family, department, and community.
