NYPD SUV Takes Bullet Through Windshield, 2 Officers Injured

by AmericasKeepersAdmin on July 06, 2020

Shortly before midnight on Saturday two Bronx Police officers were injured as a bullet struck their windshield causing glass to shatter.

Two officers were in a marked NYPD SUV when they pulled up outside the 40th precinct and a bullet hit their windshield.

The bullet caused glass to shatter resulting in one officer being cut in the face. The other officer suffered ringing ears. Both were treated at a local hospital.

Surveillance video captured the incident which shows two pedestrians crossing the street just before the bullet hit the SUV.

Police are unsure if the SUV was targeted or if hit it was hit by a stray bullet.

The Police Benevolent Association feels the incident is just an other demonstration of the lack of respect for law enforcement that has been facilitated by the Mayor and City Council who have passed a budget to defund the NYPD.
