NYC Shootings Up Over 200% Since DeBlasio Forced NYPD To Disband Anti-Crime Unit

by AmericasKeepersAdmin on July 05, 2020

Crime is skyrocketing in New York City after the NYPD was forced to disperse its plainclothes anti crime unit following protesters demands to defund the police.

In the last two weeks of June New York city had three times the number of shootings compared to the same time last year.

The number of gunfire incidents rose 205 percent and the number of gunshot injuries rose by 238 percent. The city saw 205 shootings in the month of June alone.

One mother who lost her 35 year old son feels that the decision to disperse the plainclothes anti crime unit is part of the reason crime is on the rise.

“I feel like we are giving the streets back to the criminals. They shouldn’t have disbanded it. Whatever the problem they have, address it. But don’t disband the unit. Many lives would have been saved. Not just my son.”
– Hazel Thomas

NYPD is blaming the increase in crime on the coronavirus and inmates being released early from jails. Mayor DeBlasio has not commented on the dismemberment of the anti crime unit and the effect it has had on crime in the city.
