NYC Business Owner Stands Against Tyranny, Opens Up For Business Despite Order To Remain Closed

After being closed for weeks, a NYC tailor decided to open his doors to the public in order to be able to provide for his family and ensure his employees could do the same.

New York City has been under a stay at home order for more than a month. All nonessential businesses have had to remain closed and the impact on some business owners has been devastating. One business owner decided he had enough and decided to open his doors

Eliot Rabin owns a retail shop specializing in high end clothing for boys and men. After being shut down for weeks he decided to open up his shop while adhering to social distancing and disinfecting guidelines.

“I decided that I did not want anyone to dictate to me and destroy the soul of my business, which is 43 years old,”

When Rabin initially was forced to shut down he turned to the government for help but got nowhere

“I haven’t been in my shop for three weeks, we’ve been closed, we owe a lot of money to a lot of people. We’ve applied to every government agency you could possibly think of. We’ve got registration numbers and we heard nothing back.”
“This country’s backbone is made of businesses like mine all over our country. I don’t find myself being brave,” he told host Tucker Carlson. “I find myself being reasonable. I find myself having common sense. We’re observing every single rule and regulation that’s come down.”

The NYPD did come into Robin’s shop but they left without issuing him a citation.

Rabin explained to the officers that he was planning “to clean my store, clean my inventory, and if people want to walk in, they’re allowed to walk in. I am not forcing them in. I am not a hairdresser. I’m not a manicurist or a barber. I’m a retail store but I’m open to the public and if they want to walk in, I’m not going to stop them from walking in.”
“They looked at me and said ‘You’re a veteran?’ I said ‘Yes, I am.’ And they said ‘Thank you for your service,'”
