Northwest Houston Rocked Early This Morning By MASSIVE Explosion
A massive explosion in Northwest Houston occurred today at approximately 4:25 am CST killing two people and injuring more than a dozen others. The explosion was so powerful that debris could be found more than half a mile from the site.
It knocked houses off foundations; smashed doors off frames; shattered windows; cracked sheet-rock; and jerked residents awake, some as far as 14 miles away.
The explosion occurred at Watson Grinding and Manufacturing and could be felt across the city as it damaged nearby homes and businesses. Firefighters were called to the scene to put out a resulting fire.

First responders rushed to the scene, along with a hazardous materials team, and the Red Cross set up a shelter at a church a few blocks west of the explosion site.

At this time officials are not sure what caused the explosion but a full investigation is under way. Arson investigators and agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives also joined the investigation into what caused this massive explosion.
