At the scene of the accident police didn’t discover anything that indicated the man was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The man involved in the accident was taken to a nearby hospital but he was not seriously injured.

The Lincoln Police did let the public know that it is not necessary to wear a mask while driving alone in a vehicle.

The Facebook post by the Lincoln Police department went viral and some people took it to mean that wearing masks could result in passing out. The department updated the post to reassure the public that wearing masks is in fact safe

“Considering the overwhelming response this post has received, the following should be said. NJ residents should absolutely continue to follow the directives regarding face coverings put in place by our Governor. As it relates to this specific incident, we reiterate that police officers are not physicians and do not know the medical history of every person we encounter.”
