A landlord in New Jersey was praised by the governor for waiving rent for his tenants for the months of April, May and June
Multiple tenants in New Jersey are feeling some relief after their landlord, David Placek, announced that he would be waiving rent for the next three months during the coronavirus pandemic.
Placek owns 12 rental units in Montclair NJ and by waiving rent for the next three months he is forgoing more than $50,000
“By and large we’ve gotten a good reception from our tenants, they’re happy that we were able to do this early on and really able to show them some compassion and feelings for what they might be going through,”

New Jersey’s Governor Phil Murphy praised Placek’s in a recent tweet about what he is doing to help his tenants.
David Placek is a landlord with a dozen tenants. He stepped forward to give every one of them a rent holiday through June. He exemplifies the spirit we need to see right now of people stepping up to make sure others can come out of this emergency stronger. #NJThanksYou
