Minneapolis Council Members Vote To Dismantle Police, Hire Mercenaries For Personal Security

by AmericasKeepersAdmin on June 27, 2020

While members of the Minneapolis City Council voted to dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department they have been using a private security firm to ensure their own safety.

The Minneapolis City Council apparently believes their lives are more valuable than the residents of Minneapolis. While the council voted to defund the police, they have been using city funds to hire a security firm for their own personal protection.

The three city council members who have private security claim that they have been receiving death threats and the security is for their safety.

“I don’t feel comfortable publicly discussing the death threats against me or the level of security I currently have protecting me from those threats,”
– Phillipe Cunningham

“My concern is the large number of white nationalist(s) in our city and other threatening communications I’ve been receiving,”
– Andrea Jenkins

The Minneapolis police department is not providing security to the city council members because the department’s resources are needed elsewhere.

It’s ironic that the same people who voted to dismantle the police department are the ones using city funds to ensure their own safety.
