Los Angeles Mayor Shutting Off Power & Water to Non Compliant Businesses
If you are a nonessential business in Los Angeles and you haven’t shut your doors and are in violation of the safer at home ordinance be prepared to have your water and power shut off.
Eric Garcetti the mayor of Los Angeles announced in a Tuesday press briefing that nonessential businesses who have not complied with the safer at home ordinance will be getting a visit from the Department of Water and Power. He ordered the department to shut off water and power to all nonessential businesses who have not shut down.
In response to the growing coronavirus pandemic Los Angeles is under an ordinance to stay at home except for essential needs like grocery shopping, doctors appointments and picking up medications.
Businesses who are not in compliance with the order will receive a call prior to their water and power being shut off.
During the press conference Mayor Garcetti expressed concern that Los Angeles is about 6-12 days behind New York and that the outbreak of the virus will get much worse.
