Kansas City Police Officer Shot In Head During Foot Pursuit

In Kansas City Missouri a police officer was critically injured while pursuing a suspect.

Police responded to a call about a disturbance outside of a McDonald’s around 4:30 pm on Thursday afternoon. When police arrived the suspect began to run.

Officers chased the suspect and he began to fire at officers hitting one officer in the head. Police returned fire and the suspect was shot.

“The subject, suspect, turned around and fired shots towards the officers striking one Kansas City police officer. The other officer returned fire, striking the suspect,”

The officer who was shot was transported to a nearby hospital where he underwent surgery. The officer is reportedly in critical condition.

The suspect, Ky Johnson, was pronounced dead at the scene.
