Hundreds Show Up To Support Law Enforcement In Long Island NY

by AmericasKeepersAdmin on July 06, 2020

Hundreds of people gathered on Sunday afternoon in New York marching down Wantagh Avenue showing their support for law enforcement.

As people gathered to show their support for the police they carried American flags and thanked the officers who were protecting them along their route. Some people carried signs expressing their frustration with Governor Cuomo and Mayor DeBlasio.

Many people in the crowd feel that a few bad officers is not a reflection of law enforcement as a whole. They acknowledged that officers do a lot of good for the community.

“I’m not saying there aren’t some cops that aren’t good, but a couple of bad ones doesn’t mean they’re all bad.”
– Lainie Fitzgerald

Many residents in New York are frustrated with Mayor DeBlasio’s decision to remove the plain clothes anti crime unit just a few weeks ago. Since the unit has been dispersed New York City has seen a drastic increase in crime.

With all the protest going on across the country against law enforcement it is refreshing to see there are still people who stand by our officers who work tirelessly to protect the communities they serve.
