Former Officer Garrett Rolfe who allegedly shot Rayshard Brooks has been released on a $500,000 bond.
An Atlanta judge ruled on Tuesday that Officer Rolfe could be released on bond while he awaits trial. Rolfe will have to wear an ankle monitor and cannot carry a weapon.
Rolfe has been charged with felony murder, five counts of aggravated assault, four counts of violation of oath of office and one count of criminal damage to property
Shortly before his release the detective in charge of the case had issued a defense filing stating that if Rayshard Brooks had lived the detective would have filed at least 10 charges against Brooks.
The detective who thoroughly investigated the case feels that Officer Rolfe’s use of force was justified.
