Firefighter Dies In The Line Of Duty Attempting To Save Woman Trapped In PA House Fire

A fire broke out in a home in Boiling Springs PA on Monday morning killing one firefighter and a woman who was trapped in the home.

Around 1:30 am on Monday morning firefighter responded to a fire near Boiling Springs PA. When they arrived on the scene the house was fully engulfed in flames.

Jerome Guise, a volunteer at Citizen’s Fire Company, was one of the first responders. In his heroic efforts to save the individuals inside and help put out the fire he lost his life. He had been a volunteer firefighter for 20 years.

Jessica Diehl was trapped on the second floor and she died in the fire. Her husband was able to escape and has suffered major injuries. He is currently being treated at a nearby hospital.

The fire is being investigated by state police fire marshals as they try to find answers.
