FBI Joins Manhunt For UCONN Double Murder Suspect

The FBI has joined the manhunt for a University of Connecticut senior who is wanted for two slayings that occurred on Friday and Sunday.

Peter Manfredonia is a 23 year old senior at the University of Connecticut who is a suspect in a deadly assault in Willington on Friday and a homicide in Derby on Sunday. He is believed to be armed and dangerous.

On Sunday Manfredonia left Derby CT in a vehicle that was later discovered in New Jersey at the Pennsylvania border. He was last seen in East Stroudsburg PA walking along train tracks.

He is reportedly armed with weapons he stole from a home that he burglarized.

Manfredonia has allegedly slayed Ted DeMers after he offered him a ride back to his motorcycle. Authorities have issued a warning to residents in Newtown.

“The suspect has very strong ties to Newtown and with the recent sightings of Peter in Derby in the Route 34 area, we want our residents and those around to be aware of this very dangerous individual,”

Anyone who sees Manfredonia is told to call 911 and to not approach him since he is considered to be armed and dangerous.
