E.O.W: Overland Park Police Officer Killed In Shootout On His Way To Work

by AmericasKeepersAdmin on May 04, 2020

Michael Mosher, a 14.5 year veteran of the Overland Park Police Department, was in uniform and on his way in to work, when he witnessed a hit and run accident

Mosher called dispatch and called for back up as he pursued the hit and run suspect. The suspect pulled over and that’s when the shootout began. The suspect (name not yet released) died on the scene and Mosher was rushed to a local hospital where eventually died from his wounds.

“Dedicated father. Wonderful husband. You know, those two things come to light when you think about this officer. He cared about other officers. He cared about his community. He was a good, straight officer. We’re asking for your prayers. Something like this is very hard. We have not lost an officer since Deanna Rose and this is something that… we’re not used to this.”
– John Lacy, Overland Park PD spokesman

Officer Mosher was 37 years old and leaves behind a wife and a child.
