In Missouri City Texas a Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office deputy accidentally shot and killed a Deputy Constable mistaking him for a suspect.

Early Friday morning in the Sienna Plantation neighborhood of Missouri City officers responded to a call about a suspect entering a vacant building.

Three deputies with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office along with a Fort Bend County precinct 4 constable responded to the call.

The officers entered the home through the back door and were in the process of clearing the home when one of the deputies with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office thought he saw a suspect and fired his weapon. He accidentally shot, Caleb Rule the deputy constable.

Rule was transported via LifeFlight to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Rule had been with Precinct 4 for nine months and prior to that he served 14 years as a Detective with the Missouri City Police.
