CA Gym Owner Declares His Business Essential And Opens His Doors

by AmericasKeepersAdmin on May 05, 2020

Gym and Fitness owners in California are getting fed up with Governor Newsom’s stay at home order and have decided to open their doors because they consider their businesses essential to physical and mental health

Jacob Lewis the owner of Gym HD in Victorville has decided to open his business last weekend because he feels that it’s his Constitutional Right to do so

“I’m big on the Constitution. So if you want to wear a mask, wear a mask. If you don’t, don’t. If you want to come in, great, use it. If you don’t want to come in, stay at home.”
– Jacob Lewis

Unfortunately the City of Victorville did not feel the same way. City Code enforcement officials have issued Lewis a notice that he is in violation of a city order and he has three days to comply by closing his doors. If he doesn’t comply he will be issued a citation and could potentially face further action from the city.

Other gyms across the state have opened up as well. Sean Covell who owns three gyms near Sacramento has also opened his doors. Covell has been proactive and already has an attorney in place to fight the order if he needs to.

Many businesses across the state of California are frustrated with Governor Newsom’s abuse of power and have decided to take their chances by opening their doors. For most of them their livelihood is at stake. They need to open their doors to provide for themselves and their families.
