Bruce Springsteen’s Son, Sam Joins Jersey City’s Fire Department
While Bruce Springsteen’s Glory Days might be coming to an end his son, Sam Springsteen might just be starting his. This past Tuesday Sam Springsteen was among 15 new firefighter recruits for the Jersey City Fire Department sworn in by Mayor Steven M. Fulop of Jersey City and the director of public safety, James Shea
In 2014 Same graduated from Monmouth County Fire Academy where he then went on to serve as a volunteer firefighter at several different locations including Colts Neck Fire Department in Colts Neck, NJ
Bruce Springsteen along with his wife, Patti Scialfa watched and clapped as their son was sworn in along with fifteen other recruits to the city’s fire department. Bruce Springsteen’s songs for years have celebrated the New Jersey working class and now he gets to watch his son be among a group he has admired for decades
“If I can wish for anything for my children, it’s that they can pursue their dreams and know that if things don’t work out, it’s OK,” Bruce stated to reporters. “Patti and I will always be there for him.”
The fifteen additional recruits bring the number of firefights and superiors to over 660 which is an historic high for the city according to a press release from Mayor Fulop
“Our fire department responds to 1,300 fires a year, which is why these 15 recruits have gone through rigorous training necessary to be part of the best fire department this city has ever seen,” Mayor Fulop said
