77-Year-Old Mississippi Deputy Murdered, Manhunt Underway

by AmericasKeepersAdmin on June 13, 2020

In Mississippi a Simpson County sheriff’s deputy was killed by a suspect while in police custody.

Joaquin Steven Blackwell was being placed in a patrol car outside of a mental health center in Mendenhall when he grabbed Deputy James Blair’s gun and shot the officer.

Deputy James Blair was airlifted to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Blackwell had been taken to the mental health center after his family had concerns about his mental health.

Currently he is considered to be armed and dangerous and was last seen wearing only wearing white boxer shorts.

Anyone with information should contact the Mississippi Bureau of Investigations at 1-855-642-5378.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Deputy Blair.
