3 Dead In Indianapolis Riots

Protest and riots in Indianapolis turned deadly late Saturday night into Sunday morning with at least three people killed from gunshots.

Protesters have been marching the streets of Indianapolis for several days becoming increasingly violent. On Saturday night into early Sunday morning at least five people were shot and three of those individuals died.

“Enough is enough, Indianapolis, we are better than this. Downtown is not safe at this time. Residents who do not live in the downtown area, we’re asking to please vacate the area.”

On Saturday evening the Indianapolis Police Department put out a warning to residents to avoid the downtown area.

“We are investigating multiple shootings downtown. These are NOT officer-involved incidents.”

The protest started out peaceful but as evening settled in they became more violent with protesters breaking windows and setting fires. Buildings in the downtown area were damaged.

“If you’re still down here tonight you are more than likely into something that you shouldn’t be and we want you to go home,”
