2 Police Officers Shot, Suspect Killed in Georgetown Texas Burglary

Late Tuesday night, dispatchers received a 911 call about a possible burglary

The first officer on the scene arrived and immediately started taking gunfire and was shot in both legs.

The 2nd officer arrived from the opposite direction and the suspect opened fire on her as she exited her cruiser, hitting her in the foot. She returned fire, killing the suspect.

“He was coming around the house. He started taking fire from the subject who was probably 60 to 80 feet away in a kind of darkened area. As the second officer approached from the opposite direction, she saw the exchange of gunfire going on. She exited her vehicle. The subject then turned on her – started shooting rounds toward her. She returned fire. She was shot in the foot. And the subject is deceased.

The suspect has been identified and his family has been notified but his name has not yet been released to the public.

Both officers are in stable condition according to the Georgetown Police Department.
